Ayesa is awarded the design and environmental impact study for four lines of Porto Metro



The consortium formed by Ayesa and the Portuguese engineering company GRID has been awarded the contracts for the design and environmental studies for the four new metro lines that will link the municipalities of Porto, Gondomar, Trofa, Maia, and Matosinhos.

The expansion will add approximately 40 kilometres and 38 new stations to the existing metro network by 2030, with an investment that amounts to 1 billion Euros. The projects are part of the ‘Metro Porto 3.0’ expansion plan, which aims to enhance public transportation and mobility to ease congestion.

In the Portuguese market Ayesa has developed and executed other railway projects such as the supervision and construction management of the Porto Metro Yellow Line extension, inaugurated on June 28th 2024, or the design of the Ruby Line, of which the construction is well underway.
