During the meeting, Spain defended the importance of the Mediterranean and Atlantic corridors for the country and for its connection with the rest of the European Union, and pointed out that more than EUR 17 billion will be needed to achieve military mobility objectives. In addition, it highlighted the need to support cross-border projects to ensure connectivity at European level and specifically in the Iberian Peninsula, and to safeguard the competitiveness of ports.
Spain also expressed its support for the new High Speed Plan and highlighted our country's commitment to this rail system for more than thirty years, which has placed us at the forefront of this means of transport.
