The public transport operator for Italy’s Campania region, E.A.V. S.r.l. (Ente Autonomo Volturno S.r.l.), has awarded the CAF-led consortium RTI the comprehensive project contract for Lot 2 of the new Naples Metro Line 10, which covers the design and implementation of a fully automated metro system.

This Lot 2 includes the CBTC/ATO GoA4 signalling system, electrical substations, overhead catenary, data networks, telecommunications, platform screen doors and the Operational Control Centre. It also covers the supply of a new fleet of fully automated trains, workshop equipment for the new depots and comprehensive maintenance services. These metro units, based on CAF’s INNEO platform, will comprise three high-capacity cars and feature an innovative interior and exterior design.
