Stadler Valencia to manufacture 35 EURO4001 locomotives for Turkish operator TCDD Taşımacılık



Stadler has signed an agreement with Turkish company TCDD Taşımacılık to supply 35 Co´Co´ EURO4001 diesel-electric locomotives. This type of locomotive is specially engineered for heavy freight services on non-electrified lines and steep gradients.

Fully compliant with Euro Stage V emission standards, the EURO4001 reduces particulate matter emissions by more than 90% and nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons by over 50% compared to the existing fleet. In addition, the locomotive meets European TSI interoperability requirements and features both ETCS Level 2 train control system and the Turkish national ATS system. The contract also includes spares, consumables, special tools and test equipment.
