Renfe’s open innovation programme, TrenLab, has been recognised for the second consecutive year in the ‘Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs’ ranking, compiled by Financial Times, Statista and Sifted. This ranking highlights the most influential organizations supporting start-ups in Europe.

TrenLab is one of the eighteen Spanish hubs featured in a list of 180 European hubs, and one of the seven specialising in mobility and transport. Furthermore, it has improved its position in the ‘Europe’s Leading Start-up Hubs’ ranking compared to 2025, reinforcing Renfe’s commitment to innovation in order to optimise its operational efficiency and the passenger experience. Since its creation, TrenLab has analysed more than 1,000 start-ups and accelerated 26 projects, with an investment of over €2.5 million in pilots. These initiatives have resulted in contracts worth more than €6 million, demonstrating their real impact.
