With BasqTrain 35, Euskadi will lead a new generation of trans-European high-speed trains. The aim is ‘to address the fragmentation of the European railway system, in which trains are designed for each national market, limiting cross-border circulation and raising manufacturing costs’. The project, coordinated by Talgo, will integrate 12 Basque companies, of which ten are small and medium-sized enterprises, and will have the support of the Mafex cluster.
Additionally, various technological centres and agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology, and Innovation will be involved, with CEIT as the reference entity.
