The objective of these studies is to assess the situation generated once the Pau-Canfranc line reopens for freight traffic, as well as to explore the feasibility of creating a direct freight route connecting this line with the Mediterranean Corridor without the need to pass through Zaragoza. To this end, a potential freight route that allows connection with the Pau-Canfranc international segment will be evaluated, thus addressing existing issues related to freight continuity.
The scope of this now tendered project, which has a 14-month timeline, is to produce preliminary studies detailed enough to support decision-making regarding the most viable options.
