The Badajoz Logistics Platform will inaugurate railway services in October in Badajoz, while ‘Expacionavalmoral’ will do so at the end of this year and ‘Expaciomerida’ in the beginning of 2025. In the first case, they will start with a frequency of five trains, while the other two infrastructures will start with four trains.

The Badajoz terminal will provide connections with Lisbon, Madrid, Puertollano-Valencia, Sines, Setubal, Huelva and Seville. It has three tracks for train reception/dispatch of 863 and 993 metres in length, another two tracks for loading and unloading of 863 and 990 metres in length, and an 800-metres shunting neck towards the Badajoz station.

This infrastructure boasts new signalling, electronic interlocking and safety facilities integrated into the new Plasencia-Badajoz high-speed line, on the Badajoz-Portuguese Border section. Once fully operational, it will have a storage capacity of 720 TEUs containers, a reception capacity of up to five 750-metre trains a day, and will be able to process a maximum of up to 70,000 TEUs/year.
