The forum was attended by the top representatives of the nine European transport corridors as well as delegations of public and private organizations from around 20 countries.

Adif emphasised that Spain is the second country in the world, after China, and the first in Europe in terms of kilometres of high-speed railways operated, with more than 4,000 kilometres built.

Among the data presented at the European summit, the findings included in Ineco’s report, “Efficiency of the Spanish Sector in the Development of High-Speed Rail”, stand out. The report highlights that the average construction cost in Spain is 17.7 million Euros per kilometre, compared to the international average of 45.5 million Euros per kilometre. Additionally, the annual maintenance cost per kilometre is just 100,700 Euros, representing less than 0.5% of the initial investment cost.
