Leo Express, the Czech operator that is 50% owned by Renfe, has announced the results obtained in the last year and the plans for the coming years. In 2023, revenue was 24.4 million Euros, a figure that it expects to exceed in 2024 to reach more than 40 million Euros. Regarding demand, it closed with more than 1.7 million customers, expecting to reach 3.5 million this year.

New service

The year 2023 was marked by the preparation and commissioning of the operation of a new Public Service Obligation (PSO) service in the Danube region: the connection between Bratislava and Komárno in Slovakia.

For the opening of this line, which took place in December 2023, Renfe and Leo Express collaborated in the deployment of 21 new self-propelled diesel units. Renfe’s presence has been consolidated with the inclusion of the ‘Powered by Renfe’ slogan on the trains operated by Leo Express in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
