The Danish Railway Authority, Trafikstyrelsen, the Federal Railway Authority in Germany (EBA) and the European Railway Agency (ERA) announced that the Talgo 230 trains developed for DSB have received the final authorisation to run on the Danish and German railway networks.

This authorisation paves the way for the entry into service of the Talgo 230 trains in Denmark under the commercial name EuroCity (EC). The approval obtained allows the establishment of national routes within Denmark and also on the new rail connection between Copenhagen and the German city of Hamburg, and joins the one obtained in August 2025 for the Talgo 230 units acquired by Deutsche Bahn (ICE L). Furthermore, it is expected that in the future DSB's EuroCity trains will extend their authorised area of use to Sweden and Norway.
