Ten companies participated in the Middle East Rail exhibition and conference, held in Abu Dhabi on 15-16 May. MAFEX has coordinated once more the presence of the industry in this business platform where the aim has been to strengthen commercial relations and collaborate on new infrastructure investments. This edition included the participation of companies such as Acygs, Aquafrisch, CAF, Danobat, Imathia, Indra, Ineco, Patentes Talgo, Renfe, Sener, SGS and Typsa.
The objective of these companies is to secure their position in order to participate in future transport plans. Among these plans is the reactivation of the passenger and freight network in the United Arab Emirates and in the region, with urban transport projects such as the Abu Dhabi tram, the high-speed line that will link Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Added to this is the initiative led by the Gulf Cooperation Council organization to build a network of more than 2,000 kilometres which connects the six Arabian countries of the Gulf: Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
Among the Spanish companies, Renfe reinforced its institutional presence in the Spanish pavilion at Middle East Rail 2023, and it also took part in several presentations within the conference programme.
