The project of the new line D of Prague Metro is organized in two stages. The stage called ‘I.D1a’ includes the stations Pankrác and Olbrachtova and their connecting section, while the next stage, the ‘I.D1b’, will involve the construction of three more stations: Nádraží Krč, Nemocnice Krč and Nové Dvory.
The first section of the line, in which OHLA ŽS is involved, will be the most technically demanding. In the complex geological conditions of the so-called Pankrác Terrace, a single-level transfer station will be built under the existing C line, approximately 33 metres below the surface. In addition, the Olbrachtova station will be located at a depth of 31 metres. Both stations and the 1.2-kilometre-long tunnel section will be mined by drilling and blasting. The line “D’, the blue one, will be operated by automated driverless trains.
This network will be 10.6 kilometres long and will have ten stations and a new train depot. The estimated cost for the execution of works exceeds 4 billion EUR. The new line should be opened to public in the fall of 2029.
