This project involves the analysis of the connection of Tangier city centre with the football stadium and the airport. A feasibility study will also be carried out for a new railway line to link the city with Tetouan. The project includes four key actions, which together represent over 85 kilometres of new railway track aimed at increasing the capacity for passenger circulation in medium-distance segments.
This project is part of Morocco's Railway Strategy 2040, a comprehensive long-term plan for the development of the national railway network and its various components, taking into account the analysis of future transport needs. Built around interconnected hubs thanks to transport corridors using high-speed trains, regional trains and shuttles, the system will ensure the development of a dense network throughout the country.
