Acosta Ingenieros installs new sensors to improve infrastructure safety

Acosta Ingenieros has participated in the installation of sensors in the first track assembly on the Spanish rail network that uses FFU synthetic sleepers.

These sensors ‘enable continuous inspection and monitoring of critical parameters for infrastructure safety and maintenance’, says the company. These include rail temperature, track gauge, and vertical and horizontal displacements. The installed system provides real-time information that facilitates decision-making, predictive maintenance and improvement of the structural behaviour of the track, according to Acosta Ingenieros.
