Talgo trains
Talgo intercity trains have been operated in commercial service in the Russian Federation since June 2015, connecting Moscow with Nizhny Novgorod. Starting December 2017 they have also served the Russia – Germany international route using the company’s automatic track-gauge changing system, and since last August RZD has allocated them to the Saint Petersburg – Samara line.
The intercity units are maintained in the Talgo facilities located in Moscow and enjoy a high passenger demand, with an average load factor of 90%. Since their first commercial trip, more than 9 million passengers have used them both in domestic and international routes.
