 The work will be undertaken in three phases, scheduled to take place between 2021 and 2026, by which time line 2 will be operational, as well as the branch of line 4, with which Metro de Madrid is also assisting. Once full service starts, the Madrid underground will also advise on the operation and maintenance of the line during the first years of the concession.

Metro de Madrid has been assisting the Peruvian Metro concessionaire since 2014. It is involved in all operational design, engineering, civil works, operational safety and training plans, and it will continue to carry out various technical assistance works in Lima until 2032, which will bring in revenues of 20 million Euros.

Line 2

Line 2 of the Lima Metro will run along the east-west axis of the city, from ATE to Callao and will be 27 kilometres long with 27 stations. The line 4 branch will add eight kilometres and eight more stations to the project, reaching Jorge Chávez International Airport. The new lines will be completely underground and will feature the latest GoA4 technology with automatic driverless trains.
