The contract, worth €480 million, is part of a 54.6-kilometre railway line with 18 stations that will connect the Philippine capital with Calambá (Laguna). The project is co-financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Asian Development Bank.

Acciona, which in April 2019 inaugurated its new Philippine headquarters in Manila, the second one in Southeast Asia after Singapore, won the construction of two sections of the railway line linking the town of Malolos with the Clark International Airport, 80 kilometres north of Manila, for a total amount of €965 million.
