The National Transport Authority of Ireland (NTA) has selected Indra to manage ticketing technology services for the country’s transportation systems: national rail network, trams, the future Dublin MetroLink and bus lines.

Indra to manage ticketing technology for Ireland’s public transportation systems

(29/05/2024)

Indra will provide this service for ten years, a period that can be extended by a further ten. The company will implement a multi-modal solution that will include physical sales channels. It will also handle the financial management of the fare collection process; equip the entire network with sales, validation and control equipment; and carry out the maintenance, logistics and operation of the whole system.

Indra’s project will incorporate cutting-edge technologies, such as the use of a bank card, mobile phone or smartwatch as a means of accessing transportation. Another characteristic of the system is that customers will be guaranteed the best fares and discounts in keeping with their profile or the group to which they belong. The technological solution developed by Indra has been designed to be integrated into a future Mobility as a Service offering.
