The six lines of the Riyadh Metro system are now equipped with Indra´s ticketing technology. The new technology is equipped with a touch screen that enables users to interact and access information such as maps, timetables and multimedia content. The technology is already in operation on the first three lines, and in the coming months it will extend to the other three lines of the network.

The new information and ticket vending machines are designed with an aesthetic and usability similar to that of a smartphone, and they are equipped with a touch screen that enables users to access maps, timetables and multimedia content. The access control mechanism uses transparent elements and it allows tickets to be validated with a travel card, cell phone, bank card or smartwatch.
This equipment covers the whole network, spanning 176 km across 85 stations, and is incorporated into the central system that serves the bus network, in order to provide passengers with an integrated and intermodal end-to-end journey with a single transport ticket.
