Ferrovial is awarded three contracts to build high-speed infrastructure in the UK

Ferrovial, as part of a joint venture with BAM, has been awarded three contracts to design and build the track infrastructure for the high-speed railway project HS2 in the United Kingdom. The sections of the route add up to 225 kilometres between Old Oak Common and Birmingham Curzon Street station.

The contract includes the design and installation of 450 kilometres of track capable of speeds up to 360 km/h. The two companies will also act as the principal contractor for track-related works, overseeing logistics and supporting the testing and commissioning phase.

The three track installation works to be carried out are part of a wider package of contracts announced by the company in charge of the project in November, which has a collective value of £3 billion. These contracts include the overhead catenary, operational telecommunications and security, third party telecoms, command, control, signalling and traffic management and engineering management system deals.
